Carrie Bradshaw seems to have invented the "wrong shoe" theory, in other words, pairing an outfit with a pair of shoes that we would never believe would look good together. Who can forget the "Escape from New York" episode from season 3, where she wore two completely different shoes?
Actress Sarah Jessica Parker has applied this concept best in her appearances.
This week, Parker arrived in France to celebrate the release of the third season of “And Just Like That…” on May 29. She appeared in a black dress, with long sleeves, a collar embroidered with stones, sleeves with details, hinting at being inspired by 17th century fashion.
However, Carrie's most striking detail was her shoes: pink, open-toed heels with an ankle strap. They seemed like a last-minute choice, but their contrast with the retro-gothic dress was entirely intentional. The shine, color, and feel of the "wrong shoes" actually showed off a very sophisticated and soooo bold take on the outfit.
