6 little ways your child is showing you that you are a fantastic parent ♡

Parenting is perhaps one of the most beautiful and exhausting things at the same time. Sometimes, despite all the love and dedication you give to your child, you may feel like you're not doing enough.

But the truth is, children speak, sometimes not with words, but with the way they behave. And when you read these little signals, you realize that yes, you're probably doing a great job.

1. He asks you out when he feels bad.

If your child comes straight to you when they're upset, it means you're their safe place. Whether it's calling out to you or snuggling up in your lap quietly, they know you're the person who can calm them down. And that's a gift that not every child has.

Studies show that young children seek more contact with caregivers they perceive as more emotionally "close" to them. 

2. Tells you things from his life

When a child comes up to you to tell you about a new friend, a drama at school, or just to make small talk, it's a sign that they feel emotionally safe with you. Children who feel uncomfortable are usually quiet or only talk when forced to.

If he/she confesses to you without fear, without filters, and without scruples, you have created an environment where your child can be themselves.

3. Asks for help

Whether it's for a school project or to resolve an emotional issue, when your child comes to you for advice or help, you know you're the right person for them.

He/She believes that you will help him/her without judging him/her. Because there are parents who do not create that feeling of security and their children are taught to be completely independent, even when they are not ready for it.

4. He includes you in his world.

When he invites you to watch a movie together, says "come watch this video with me," or asks you to play, it's no coincidence. He'll share what he likes with you because he sees your relationship as a healthy and warm space.

Don't underestimate an invitation to watch the same movie with Barbie for the fourth time, it's an invitation to intimacy.

5. Opposes you without fear

Yes, that's a compliment too! If she says, "I don't like what you said" or "I disagree," and does it calmly and respectfully, it means she feels safe enough to be honest. She's not afraid that you'll retaliate or ignore her.

In a family where there is real communication, discussions also happen. And that is a very good thing.

6. He is a "living room child," not just of his own room.

If your child hangs around, plays in the hallway, comes and sits next to you for no particular reason, it's because they want to be around. If they were to stay alone in their room, it would mean that they don't feel comfortable or welcome in "shared" spaces.
