Yesterday, as we took a look at the chronicles in the country, we drew attention to the story of a 74-year-old woman who refuses to retire. Vera Celina, math teacher in the 9-year cycle, said Top Channel is not ready to give up her profession. Rather, he does not even plan to do it!
"I will continue to work as much as I can. For me, living means working and it seems to me that I contribute to my way of working, as much as I can ... Little, as much as I can serve this place, these children who will be tomorrow future. "
Initially to clarify by law, Law No. 7703 "On Social Insurance in the Republic of Albania" states that "insured persons are entitled to full retirement age at the age of 65 men and 60 years of age after they have completed 35 years of insurance ". Also, at another point it is clarified that "the insured, who has fulfilled the conditions for full retirement pension according to Articles 31 and 92 of the same law, adds to the amount of 0.34% of the full pension, every month continues to work and pay contributions ".
So if we assume that the teacher has met the eligibility criteria for the old age pension at age 60, there are about 14 years (or less) who practice the teaching profession.
Although it is an inspirational opportunity to look at the profession in another perspective, there is certainly another side of the coin, unfortunately not at all inspirational. Once the case was made public, in Anabel Magazine on Facebook, there were not many followers who opposed such a decision for two main reasons, although they emphasized respect for the 9-year cycle teacher.
The first reason is related to the constant stress of teachers and changing brain capacity with age growth.
In 1974, psychologist Herbert Freudenberger was the first to use the term "burnout" , which has to do with the "decline of motivation, dedication and desire to work as a result of various factors. Scientist Esther M. Sternberg, author of The Balance Within: The Science Connecting Health and Emotions, points out that teachers and nurses are the most vulnerable to burnout. "Teachers and nurses face everyday situations in charge of their work. Chronic stress affects their brains and quality at work. "
"The teacher's profession is among the most tedious. And the desperate brain falls over the age. The right to retire many zysha have barely achieved, with many struggles with institutions and the state and this has many reasons. The state goes with planning. Young people are coming, young people come. That's life, "wrote a follower.
The second reason relates to the employment of new teachers who are more up-to-date with the latest teaching process, thanks to technology, new learning practices and not just.
"Zysha is to be an example of the energy he has, but it is right to leave someone else's place. He has worked all his life and has the right to a pension, but even someone who has completed studies has the right to a job. "
"Thank you very much for working, but for honor to know if you release a teenager or young woman. You worked hard. Enjoy the retirement. If you will work, pay for it. "
"Do private lessons and desire for teaching not to give up, leave a new generation to not go out in protest [...]."
