In just one day, the petition demanding the naming of Kosovo as a state on Netflix has been signed by more than 10,000 people and the number is growing.
"When Kosovo Albanians enter Netflix, their location appears as if they were in Serbia, even though they are using the platform from the Republic of Kosovo."
The creator of the petition, Sovereign Hoti, writes that "this has happened to him many times." He can not even verify the phone number because Kosovo does not appear in the list of countries with their phone prefixes.
"Kosovo declared independence on February 17, 2008. Since then, 98 United Nations countries have recognized Kosovo as an independent state, including the United States of America. Propaganda by Serbia to bring Kosovo down in the international arena continues, especially on major online platforms. That needs to change. Serbia has no jurisdiction over Kosovo and its institutions, and our independence cannot be devalued by them. "Netflix is ??an American company, and since the US recognizes Kosovo, shouldn't Netflix add it as a country to its streaming service?"
The request in the petition continues:
"We are the most pro-American country in the world and we love Netflix. With this petition, I think they will listen to us kindly."
