Martha Stewart knows how to signal to her houseguests that it's time to leave.
A guest on "The Drew Barrymore Show," the lifestyle expert shared a tip with People on how to end a house party and tell your guests to leave.
When Barrymore asked Stewart how she dismisses people in style, she replied, "I'm going to sleep."
“Yes, I say that sentence,” Martha said before adding that she uses it in case turning off the lights hasn't worked.
If you find Martha's trick awkward, you can politely say:
- "We are having a lot of fun, but I have a meeting early tomorrow morning." How about we wrap it up for tonight?"
- “I hate to interrupt the party, but I have to wake up early tomorrow. Thank you so much for coming!”
- "We had a great time today, really. Tomorrow I have to wake up very early, so I better sleep. Can I help you with anything before you leave?”
