Now that Twitter is owned by Elon Musk, billionaire George Soros has called on some of the world's most important companies to "give up Twitter" through groups funded by him.
According to the NYP, Elon "is seeking to find out who is behind these calls made public through a letter signed by more than 20 liberal groups."
"Who funds these organizations that want to control your access to information?" "Let's investigate," Musk wrote yesterday.
This letter was signed by 26 organizations which claim that “the usurpation of Twitter by Elon Musk, will contribute to the further toxicity of our shared information ecosystem, becoming a direct threat to public safety, especially among the most vulnerable groups and marginalized. ”
In their letter, these organizations have addressed large firms such as Coca-Cola, Disney or even Apple.
The reason for this radical demand is the fear that billionaire Elon Musk may be too lenient and abandon previous Twitter policies which moderated, filtered and blocked posts with content considered hate speech or misinformation.
Responding to a Twitter commenter claiming that George Soros was the main man behind the letter, Elon Musk made a post urging George Soros to contact him as well as "write to him on DM".
Some of the organizations that have signed the letter include - Media Matters for America, Black Lives Matter, Accountable Tech, UltraViolet (feminist group), the Center for Counting Digital Hate, the National Hispanic Media Coalition and The Free Press Digital Rights group.
