
Two Russian military planes violate Lithuanian airspace

Two Russian military aircraft entered Lithuanian airspace for about 18 seconds on Thursday, the Lithuanian military announced.
The planes, identified as a Su-30 fighter and an Il-78 aerial refueling tanker, were suspected of being on an in-flight refueling training mission when they crossed the border from the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad.
In response, Spanish Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft from the NATO Baltic Air Policing mission immediately took off and patrolled the area.
In a post on the X platform, Lithuanian President Gitanas Naus?da called the incident "a blatant violation of international law and territorial integrity."
Three people arrested in Britain on suspicion of spying for Russia

British authorities have arrested three men on suspicion of spying for Russia, London's Metropolitan Police announced on Thursday.
The suspects, aged between 44 and 48, were arrested at their homes in west and central London.
According to police, they are accused of violating the National Security Act of 2023 by "assisting a foreign intelligence service."
Police added that it is believed that the country they were working for is Russia.
Zelensky calls on European countries to increase pressure on Russia

Ukraine's president called on European partners to increase pressure on Russia on Thursday, aiming to force Moscow to sit down for peace talks with Kiev.
Speaking at a European Union summit in Brussels, on the same day the EU adopted a new package of sanctions against Moscow, Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia continues to reject the idea of ??a ceasefire or direct negotiations.
"The more pressure on Russia, the sooner they will sit down to talk, and I think that's the plan," Zelensky said.
He added that Ukraine will also coordinate actions with partner countries outside the EU, such as Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, "so that they also implement these strong EU measures in their systems."
