Rapper Abderraouf Derradji's concert, known as Soolking, turned tragedy after a panic crowd killed 5 people, while 21 others were injured.
Thousands of young people gathered at Algiers Capital Stadium to watch Soolking's performance. One reporter present at the concert, Linda Chebbah, told the BBC that "there were a lot of people in the stadium. "There were so many people in the stadium that I was not surprised that there was an accident."
Witnesses told TSA News in Algeria that the panicked crowd was caused by a administration problem at the entrance to the stadium. The other 21 injured are not life-threatening, while the 5 victims are reported to be young, three boys and two girls.
Soolking, who is originally from Algeria, has not yet reacted to the tragedy.
