A coffee bar in Florence was fined 1,000 euros after a customer was upset about the price of a cup of coffee.
The client called police after being asked to pay € 2 for decaffeinated coffee at Ditta Artigianale in downtown Tuscany, the Guardian reports. The customer complained that the price had not been displayed on the menu behind the counter. It was this mistake that got the restaurant in trouble, which is known for its coffee shop.
Francesco Sanapo, owner of Ditta Artigianale, spoke out against the fine on social media and defended the coffee, which he said came from a small plantation in Mexico and was "prepared very carefully." .
In Italy, the average cost of an espresso coffee is 1 euro, although more than 70% of bars increased prices at the beginning of the year due to supply chain problems and poor harvests, as anywhere in the world, including Albania.
"No one should be scandalized anymore to pay 2 euros for an espresso," the owner added, citing the rising cost of raw materials.
We hope that the client will never visit Albania, because he will probably have to talk to the FBI.
