Albania's Independence Day was two days ago, but Drake thinks it's never too late to join the party. On Wednesday, one day after Independence's 111th anniversary, Drake released the music video for "Polar Opposites," the closing track from his latest album, "For All the Dogs."
The entire music video of the song contains references to Albanian culture. At the beginning, the title of the song appears, accompanied by the double-headed eagle symbol.
Afterwards, Drake plays poker and billiards with a group of friends, who are all dressed, along with Drake, in bomber-style jackets, with the double-headed black eagle again appearing on the back.

In "Polar Opposites", Drake sings to a girl who has blocked him from all platforms. Most likely, Mariana is Albanian from Kosovo, since at one point in the song, he says: "I don't know how they do things in Pristina / I just know that the tension is growing". This could be a reference to the tensions in the north of Kosovo with the Serbian side. Drake, apparently, not only appreciates Albanian culture, but at the same time is also informed about geo-political tensions.
The video ends with an eagle flying over the sea.
At the moment, Drake's connection with Albania is a bit unclear, but one of the reasons could be the fact that one of the lyricists of his latest album is the Albanian Gent Memishi. Through him, the rapper came into contact with Albanian culture and it seemed like a good idea to make it part of the album. And/or Mariana, a girl from Pristina, broke his heart.
Drake, we need answers!
