Kamala Harris, the woman who made history in the US

In the election of Kamala Harris as his deputy, the Democratic candidate for president of the United States of America, Joe Biden, showed that he is able to "read" American politics well. In the wake of powerful moves like #MeToo and #BlackLivesMatter, Kamala's election was not only a safe choice, but also a historic moment that was after a bow of history bowed to justice.

If Joe Biden is declared the winner, Kamala Harris will be the first Asian-American vice president in the US, the first vice president of color and the first female vice president. Certainly her name will not turn Biden's sympathizers into pro-him voters, however it could signal people of color to vote for her.

Kamala, a lawyer by profession, is a member of the Democratic Party and the second African-American woman and the first Native American to serve in the United States Senate.

Kamala has published two books. In "The Truths We Hold" she recounts her childhood memories and the first steps in her career in California, while in the second book, "Superheroes Are Everywhere", she presents pictures for children through which she aims to motivate the younger generation to find ways to make the world a better place.

Kamala has been married since 2014 to lawyer Douglas Emhoff.
