If you've been following Justin Timberlake's recent concerts, you may have noticed that the star hasn't always been in his best form. In a candid Instagram story, Justin revealed that he's been dealing with a serious, life-changing diagnosis for some time now: Lyme Disease, a condition that explains much of the fatigue and pain he experiences.
What is Lyme Disease?
This disease is caused by the bite of an infected tick and is known for its insidious and debilitating symptoms. At first, it may seem like a common cold or extreme fatigue, but if left untreated, it affects the nerves and causes severe pain, constant fatigue and mental problems, which Justin experienced during his recent tour.

In his post, Justin described the experience as "one of the most physically and emotionally difficult I've ever been through, but also one of the most beautiful, thanks to the love and support I've received from my fans and family." He said that after the diagnosis he felt shocked, but felt relieved at least because he could understand why he often felt severe nerve pain and fatigue that made it almost impossible for him to perform.
However, although he considered canceling the rest of the tour, he decided to continue "because the joy that the stage gives him outweighs all the difficulties." But Justin did not hide his doubts about the future:
"This disease is really tiring and often makes me feel like I won't be able to keep up at this pace anymore."
Fans have noticed low energy at his concerts recently, and even videos of his performances where he lets the fans sing more than he does have been circulating online. Now, after the discovery of the disease, everything seems more understandable.
Finally, Justin thanked everyone who has supported him during this difficult period, his wife Jessica Biel, his two sons, the band, the dancers and the tour team.
"Nothing is stronger than your unconditional love. You are my heart and home. I am on the road to recovery..." he concluded hopefully.
