Julia Fox, best known for her role in the film Uncut Gems, has been open about plastic surgery and how she views her image today. In a recent confession, she admitted that she regrets some of the cosmetic procedures she has had, including Botox, liposuction (removal of excess fat from certain areas of the body), rhinoplasty (surgical intervention on the nose) and dental veneers.
As she explained herself, these decisions did not come as a result of a personal need, but were the result of strong social pressure that convinced her that she had to constantly appear attractive to men in order to "survive."
"When I see someone who hasn't had any surgery on their face or body, I want to go back in time and be that kind of person. I was obsessed with the idea that I had to be attractive to men to exist in this world," she said.
Now 35, Fox says she's not as obsessed with her appearance. While she doesn't rule out the possibility of considering cosmetic surgery again in the future, she says it's not a priority for her at this point in her life. What concerns her most is transparency about cosmetic procedures.

The actress also spoke about women who are speaking openly about the procedures they have had, saying that this transparency helps create more realistic standards of beauty.
"I really like this approach. We have to be honest. Women often set standards for each other, and if we are not clear, what message are we sending to all the girls who wonder why they don't look like this?" she said, emphasizing the importance of the responsibility that public figures bear.

Fox didn't hesitate to comment on the often divided reactions her appearance has received. According to her, these reactions speak more about the perceptions of others than about her.
"To me, this says more about them than it does about me," she said.
