Billy Ray Cyrus, the father of Miley Cyrus, has been accused by his ex-wife, known by the stage name Firerose (her real name is Johanna Rosie Hodges), of extreme violence. In documents obtained by Page Six, Firerose accused the singer of "unpredictable and unstable" behavior that amounted to "extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse."
Court documents signed on June 16, claimed that the singer's unbalanced behavior was a consequence of the continuous use of narcotic substances, as well as hashish.
In another part of the file, Firerose, 36, says she was constantly walking around their marital home as she prepared for a double mastectomy (surgery to remove the breast or part of it, which done to treat breast cancer).
"As the date of the operation approached, she was afraid to leave or ask for help, as she was afraid that her husband would interfere with the progress of the operation, or her recovery while staying at home," the file states.
Cyrus, 62, reportedly filed for divorce from Firerose 24 hours before her surgery.
Regarding the accusations, he reacted by claiming that it is the complete opposite. He denied the allegations, saying she should provide evidence to support the allegations. Further, he said that in fact, he is the abused party. Cyrus claims that a letter in which Firerose apologized to him after the divorce is the very evidence that proves his claims.
In a handwritten note, the "Time" singer allegedly apologized to her ex-husband, telling him that she was very sorry for ending the marriage and that she wanted another chance.
Cyrus also added that the ex-wife threatened to destroy his career if he tried to divorce her and that she would tell the public that the real reason for the divorce was that Firerose had to undergo surgery. He said they had an argument in May 2024, before he filed for divorce, and says there are things she is hiding from him, as even before, she had refused to tell him details about her past.
