Musk called on Italians and people in other industrialized countries to have more children "or the culture of Italy, Japan and France will disappear".
At a political event organized by the far-right party Brothers of Italy, which is led by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Elon Musk claimed that having more children is the only way to stop the population decline that threatens the economies of many countries advanced.
"My advice to all government leaders and people is: make sure you have children to create a new generation," he said.
Musk has 11 children with three different mothers and took to the stage with one of them in his arms saying that "demographics are important".
He told the audience that Italy is "an extraordinary country" and "a good place to invest", but added that "investing companies ask themselves: will there be enough people working?". "Maybe I'm repeating myself, but these are the facts," he added.
Musk emphasized that he was a "supporter of legal immigration", saying that countries should welcome people who are honest and willing to work hard.
