The founder of SpaceX said that he and the Canadian singer are "half separated", but remain on good terms and continue to be the parents of their 1-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii.
"We're half separated, but we still love each other, see each other often and we're in a great relationship," Musk told Page Six.
"Mostly my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be mostly in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is mostly in Los Angeles. She is staying with me now and baby X is in the room next door."
Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, and Elon revealed that they are together in May 2018. They became parents in May 2020. Musk has five other sons from his marriage to Justine Wilson: twins Griffin and Xavier and triplets Damian, Saxon and Kai.
In a recent interview with Vogue, Grimes talked about parenting and said he did not like the word "mother" at all .
