Elon Musk is ready to donate part of his fortune to end the world hunger crisis, enough for the United Nations (UN) to prove how $ 6 billion will end crisis.
Elon Musk challenged the claim of a United Nations official who said that only a small percentage of Musk's wealth could help solve the problem of world hunger. Elon refers to the comment of David Beasley, director of the UN World Food Program, who last week called on billionaires to cooperate once and for all.
Beasley specifically called for action from Musk and Amazon co-founder Jeff Bezos, the two richest men in the world. Just $ 6 billion, or 6% of Elon Musk's fortune, could save 42 million people from death, he said.
"If the World Food Program can describe exactly how $ 6 billion will solve the famine crisis, I will sell Tesla shares now and do it." - said Elon Musk.
In another post, Musk stressed that actions need to be transparent so that the public can see exactly how the money is spent.
But it must be open source accounting, so the public sees exactly how the money is spent.
