Volodymyr Zelenskyy: 55,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed since start of large-scale invasion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the human losses during the war, the ongoing negotiations and Europe's stance towards Russia, during an interview with French public television channel France 2 on Wednesday.

As new trilateral talks are taking place in Abu Dhabi, Zelenskyy said Russia wants to inflict more suffering on Ukrainians so that they accept what the Americans call a compromise, but according to him this is in reality an ultimatum from the Kremlin.

This development comes after the latest incident that resembles a military clash between the two sides, after a US Navy fighter jet shot down an Iranian drone that approached a US aircraft carrier.

European Union countries that want to impose additional restrictions on social media platforms must be careful not to infringe on the authority of the European Commission, a spokesman for the executive said on Wednesday, after Spain announced it would ban the use of social media by children under 16.
This came after Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced that the government would change laws to punish those responsible for manipulating algorithms, to protect users from what he called the "digital wild west".
Seven EU countries are said to be considering such a ban, citing scientific evidence of negative psychological impacts on young people.
