Given the fact that the first show of "Për'Puthen" lacked boys, opinionist Arjan Konomi seems to have had to deal only with girls and reveal details about them, perhaps something more than the introductory clip. But it happens that sometimes, in an attempt to highlight something certain, or to make a joke so passing, we end up with unnecessary, though not even inappropriate, comments. We move from the general to the concrete.
Since its introduction, one of the competing girls, Tea, was introduced as different from the others. Immediately after the broadcast of the introductory clip, for more than two minutes, nothing more than its weight was discussed on the show. Arjan Konomi said that Teas may find herself a little overweight, but for her, her forms are beautiful and "it is different from the stereotypes we are used to on television." Then he added, unnecessarily, that referring to the polls, boys prefer hot girls.
It should be noted that the discussion does not contain offensive notes, but it is nonetheless unnecessary. If such a discussion were to take place in Albanian beauty contests, where we are not used to seeing hot girls, it would have other value, but the "congratulation" that a hot girl appears on the screen to seek love, after all like any Another girl in "Për'Puthen", I think is extremely unnecessary. Tea is no less attractive or more attractive than other girls, despite these controversial polls of boys, because I want to believe that consent is much more than a number on the scales.
The second comment relates to the other participant, Anna, who was also discussedfor its weight. Arjan Konomi was impressed by Ana, because she has a passion for cooking, but - in his words - "she looks anorexic, so weak". Comparing someone who cooks often and has a certain body weight with an anorexic person who is such due to personality disorders, genetic, environmental factors or incorrect body image is inappropriate. I think the time has come to necessarily avoid all the comparisons that people who face mental health disorders basically have, as it negatively affects the latter, especially when said on television. In short, it is inappropriate to say to someone who is petty that he looks anorexic, to someone who changed his mood to behave like a bipolar, to someone who suspected something paranoid, someone who wants to stay for a while just because he is antisocial or emotionally unstable etc. All I mentioned are certain brain states and comparisons without criteria have a negative effect, as we unconsciously convince ourselves that we know them well enough, when in the meantime we know very little.
To summarize, in the program, one person is congratulated for participating in a reality show, another is described as looking anorexic due to weight, while at the end there is talk of an emancipated society. An emancipated society would discuss many topics, but weight would not be one of them.
