After a very difficult year for her, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has shared an important update on her battle with cancer.
Kate Middleton revealed that she has cured the disease at the hospital where she was treated last year, however, this does not mean that it is gone forever.
How is Kate Middleton doing now?
"It's a relief that I'm now cured and remaining focused on my recovery," Kate shared on Instagram alongside an image of her visit with a patient at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London on January 14.
“As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis knows, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. However, I am looking forward to a new year ahead. There is so much to look forward to.”
During her emotional visit, Kate met with staff involved in her treatment to thank them for their care of her and other cancer patients.
The visit came as Kate continues her slow return to public duties after taking most of 2024 off to focus on her health and family.
The last time she was seen in public was on Christmas Day as she joined the royal family for celebrations at Sandringham.
Much of her focus behind the scenes since finishing chemo treatments has been on getting back on track, with a royal biographer revealing she's also been hitting the gym.
"From what I understand, Catherine is doing very well. She's working out in the gym and doing all the things she wanted to do," Robert Jobson told Hello magazine in late 2024.
Is Kate Middleton back in office?
The good news comes as Kate has begun a gradual return to duty after revealing she has completed her chemotherapy treatment.
Her participation in the hospital visit marks the beginning of the princess's planned return to work and public engagements over the coming months.
After nearly a year of speculation as she dealt with serious health issues, the Princess of Wales finally shared some positive news with fans around the globe on September 9.
"As summer draws to a close, I can't tell you what a relief it is to finally finish my chemotherapy treatment," Kate said, accompanied by a sweet video giving a candid and unprecedented look into her private life at home.
Kate announced that she had been diagnosed with an undetected form of cancer in March 2024 after previous major abdominal surgery and would undergo several sessions of "preventive chemotherapy."
She has been greatly supported during her battle with the disease by Prince William, 41, who put family first as they faced this difficult time.
The prince interrupted his duties to be there for his wife and their children.
Kate explained that while her journey had been "complex, scary and unpredictable", it had left the couple with "a new perspective on everything".
