In late-night shows, the humor is expected to be sharp and clever, but here comes Albano Bogdo, whose "genius" idea seems to be stuck in a dark age. Most recently, he hit the big screen with a show that questioned the state of modern comedy.
Albano, who forgot concepts like decency and respect, decided to throw offensive and sexist words at two well-known figures, Beatrix and Alban Ramosaj. In his new program on Vizion Plus, "Albano Show", he asked: "Do you know who Alban Ramosaj is?" are you saying that our existence on the planet depends on this question.
For Albano and guys like him, Alban Ramosaj is an artist who has left his mark on Albanian music and currently continues his life completely independent of Bogdo's existence. But Albano's disparaging comments did not stop there.
He felt it necessary to follow up with a disparaging statement about Beatrix. "[Alban Ramosaj] is the guy who s**t Donald's sister on 'Big Brother.'" It is shocking how Albano managed to pack so much hatred, insults and misogyny into two single sentences.
In the modern age, where inclusiveness, respect and intelligence are prized, Albano's comedy feels archaic and evidence of harmful stereotypes. With his show, he showed us not what comedy is, but what it shouldn't be. Humor doesn't have to be offensive to make us laugh.
The reactions of ordinary people and public figures were immediate, some of which you can find below:
