The 45-year-old actress may be forever famous for her role as Cher Horowitz in Clueless, but she's also known for her vegan lifestyle and unconventional parenting techniques. In a podcast, Alicia Silverstone shared some details about her relationship with her son, Bear.
The actress said Bear, 11, still sleeps in the same bed as her.
"I am a loving mother. I believe in love, I believe in nature, and our society is afraid of nature and love," she said, adding that she is likely to get in trouble for saying this publicly, but it's not like she cares.
When Bear was a baby, Silverstone fed him food that he had already chewed himself.
"When he was only 10 months old, he would crawl around the room to 'attack' my mouth if I was eating," said the actress about her son.
Alicia is a well-known supporter of animal rights and a vegan. She is also raising her son on a plant-based diet. The actress enjoys cooking together, and Silverstone believes that including Bear in the process gives him a better understanding of where food comes from and how.
Alicia gave birth to Bear, with Christopher Jarecki, in 2011. Although the couple split 7 years later when she filed for divorce, they are still on great terms and handle co-parenting like pros. Silverstone revealed in an interview that they see and communicate with their son every day.
Bear and his mom cook, do yoga and take long walks together in their spare time. They sometimes even bathe together.
