
American actor James Ransone, best known for his role in the popular series "The Wire", has died at the age of 46.
Ransone became known for playing Ziggy, the clumsy and chaotic character, in the second season of the crime drama, which is considered one of the highest-rated television series of all time.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office announced that Ransone passed away on Friday. According to CNN sources, the actor committed suicide.
His wife, Jamie McPhee, with whom he had two children, shared an emotional message on social media, expressing her love and gratitude for the family they had built together.
In his career, Ransone also appeared in other productions such as "Prom Night", "The Black Phone", "Law & Order" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation".
