In October 2023, producer Abe Diaw sued Brown for physical assault. According to the lawsuit, the singer hit him in the head with a tequila bottle and then kicked and brutally punched him in the neck, knocking him unconscious for about 30 seconds.

The producer claims that the attack left him with a fractured skull and torn ligaments in his leg, ending up in the hospital.

He also accuses Brown of defamation and spreading false rumors, including accusations that he was a thief – which, according to the lawsuit, severely damaged his reputation and professional relationships.
