Blake Lively opened up about her "intense" year in a recent interview. Last December, she sued actor and director Justin Baldoni — her co-star in "It Ends With Us" — accusing him of sexual harassment and a vendetta campaign to harm her after the accusation.
Baldoni then sued Lively, claiming defamation and blackmail. The trial is expected to take place next year.
In a statement to the New York Times, Blake said:
"I hope my lawsuit will help shed light on these dark tactics of retaliation against those who speak out about harassment and protect others who may be targeted."
Beyond the statements from lawyers, Blake also spoke a little on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," while promoting the film "Another Simple Favor."
After talking about her four children, she added:
"It's no secret that I've had a really intense year. My kids are my salvation. No matter what day I have, I have to be Disneyland for them every day. It's the most beautiful thing."
She stressed that she could not say much about the legal matter, but added:
"I can say that this year has been the highest and lowest points of my life."
Blake also said that many women today are afraid to speak out, but thanks to those who have dared, she feels the strength and duty to speak out:
"Fear is what keeps us silent. But I know that many people don't have the opportunity to speak out, so I feel lucky that I can."
At the Time100 Gala 2025, she made another statement about the situation, saying:
"I have a lot to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the time. I will talk later about what it means to be a woman with a voice today."
