Windsor Castle in Great Britain has fallen prey to robbers. Two people were able to pass the security gate, while the Prince and Princess of Wales, Kate and William, together with their children were sleeping in their home.
The robbers climbed a fence at night and used a stolen truck to drive through the gate of the royal court, stealing farm vehicles.
The theft is said to have happened on October 13, but the news became public today.
Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace, where William and Catherine have their offices, declined to comment on the incident, in line with their policy of not commenting on security matters.
It is not yet clear whether the incident has put the safety of the Prince or his family at risk.
It was the second major security breach at Windsor Castle in recent years, although not as serious as the one on Christmas Day 2021, when police were confronted by a man dressed in black, masked and carrying a arch. "I'm here to kill the queen," he told the officers.
JasWant Singh Chail was jailed for nine years after being convicted of treason in February 2023. It was the first treason conviction in Britain in more than four decades.
