Despite the breakdown of the relationship between Prince William and Harry, it seems that the rift between the brothers was earlier than that.
According to the late Princess Diana's former bodyguard, Ken Wharfe, William has always been very jealous of Harry's popularity, even since they were children.
"Harry makes a lot of jokes and this trait has picked out from an early age in people. People love people with a good sense of humor and jokes and Harry was one of them. Part of the problem between William and his brother was the feeling of jealousy over Harry's popularity all along, he told the A Right Royal podcast.
Harry seems to have inherited some of his mother's best traits, which have been laughter, fun-loving and mass popularity.
"Harry has a unique style, not only in appearance, but also in the part of communication and conversations in which he is involved. Therefore, William has often felt inferior compared to his brother," adds the former bodyguard.

But recently there have been attempts from all sides for an adjustment of the relationship between the two, as in the recent case of William and Kate Middleton publicly wishing Harry on his 40th birthday.
