The Albanian Wrestling Federation requests the review of the result of Chermen

The Albanian Wrestling Federation has decided to appeal the result that Chermen Valiev received at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Valiev left the competition with a bronze medal, but according to the federation's judges, he deserves the gold medal.

The review is required for the result of the match with the wrestler from Uzbekistan, Jamalov Razambek. The Albanian wrestler, Chermen Valiev, won in the quarterfinals against Razambek and was punished with a yellow card. Then, his rival won with a narrow score of 6-5.

According to the Federation, the decision was unfair and this has affected the removal of the opportunity to win a gold medal. Wrestling experts have stated that it is unlikely that a change in the result will happen, but again, the judges of the Federation are looking for the gold medal and will follow all the legal spaces and steps to do so.

As for the bronze medal, the 25-year-old defeated Viktor Rassad, from Tajikistan, in the freestyle for the weight up to 74 kg. He managed to give Albania the first medal in the history of our country's participation in recent years, in an Olympic competition.
