Selena Gomez doesn't seem to be a big fan of classic wedding traditions – and there's a pretty sweet (for Benny Blanco, of course) and very strange (for us) reason for that.
In an episode of the "Table Manners" podcast, Selena revealed that she and her partner, producer Benny Blanco, are seriously considering removing the "first waltz" from their wedding altogether.

“I guess we won’t,” Selena said, laughing a little sheepishly. “I feel like… embarrassed.” Blanco immediately chimed in, saying, “She’s shy.” What’s strange is how someone as public as Selena would feel shy about dancing with her equally public husband in front of close family.
However, the wedding will not be without great emotions. Selena will include a very special moment: a dance with her maternal grandfather. And the reason behind this decision is touching.
“My grandfather never got the chance to walk my mom down the aisle,” she said. “Because, luckily for my mom, she decided to run off to Vegas and say ‘I do’ to my dad, and they’ve been together since they were 26.”
"They did it their way – and it was very sweet – but I want to give my grandfather that moment he never had," Selena added.

The famous couple confirmed their relationship in December 2023 and got engaged a year later, in December 2024. "Forever starts now," Selena wrote in the post, where she also shared the diamond ring that Benny Blanco had chosen for her.
Selena and Benny have known each other since 2013 through Selena's mother, Mandy Teefey, and then began collaborating musically. Benny is one of the producers of the songs "Kill Em With Kindness" and "Same Old Love" from Selena Gomez's 2015 album "Revival."
