Prince Leka and Elia Zaharia are officially divorced, according to the decision of the Court of Tirana. According to the document available to Balkan Web , the decision to dissolve their marriage was made official on April 25 and betrayal was not a reason for the end of the couple's marriage.
According to the decision, they were separated due to numerous and continuous conflicts, interruption of cohabitation and lack of communication, which were approved by the former couple.
We remind you that Elia Zaharia and Leka Zogu are involved in a conflict, which grabbed all the attention of the media, after it was said that Elia's father, Gjergji, had raped the former son-in-law, Leka Zogu.
At that time, Prince Leka had gone to meet his daughter, Geraldina, and was confronted by Gjergj Zaharina, the former father-in-law, who was taking care of his granddaughter, since Elia was not in the apartment at that time. After a debate, Prince Leka claimed that he had been raped by Gjergji, while the latter said that he is old and did not have the power to do violence to anyone.
They both presented themselves to the police, to do a forensic examination. Afterwards, Elia also denounced her ex-husband for violence.
According to the prince's testimony, the former father-in-law insulted him and hit him with a statue. The event took place on "Murat Toptani" street, at the residence of the royal family, where he had appeared to meet the 3-year-old girl.
"Initially, I met with the head of the yard's administration, whom I asked about a closet that was emptied in violation of the agreement. Afterwards, I asked him to accompany me to my daughter's place to meet her, for which we have agreed with my ex-wife in a marriage settlement agreement". He testified that he had found the little girl accompanied by her grandfather. When she hugged her daughter, Leka faced insulting and threatening words from Gjergji, who told her that she should change the way when she saw him.
Leka added that the situation became even more serious when he told Gjergji that he had to leave the room where he was with his daughter and at these moments, Gjergji approached him, pushed him and kicked him.
"My reaction was defensive, but Gjergji continued hitting me and tore my sweatshirt, as well as took a hard object (wooden statue) with which he hit me," he said.
After the conflict, a video from the moment of the collision also circulated, which the prince said had come from the police offices and was evidence.
"Hello! As you have been informed, Prince Leka, on the afternoon of March 5, he was physically attacked with hard objects by his ex-wife and ex-father-in-law, and the videos of this moment were made public on social networks. The videos were submitted only to the police station by Prince Leka II Zogu, as material evidence for the violence against him, but despite being considered a secret, these materials, together with the statement, circulated widely on social networks and in the media. conveying unpleasant and violent images," the statement said.
Further, the statement continued: "The Royal Court expresses its deep disappointment with the law enforcement institutions that we suspect have violated the right to anonymity by distributing the videos. Also, the Royal Court requests the intervention of the police and relevant institutions to delete these images from social networks and the media".
Elia also reacted after the video, saying: "I have also explained the reasons to the relevant bodies. (It happened) because of the confrontation I saw between my ex-husband and my father. I would never have chosen for this to happen, let alone be served, as it is an intimate, family moment. Status aside, I'm a person of flesh, blood and spirit."
As for how this event affected the girl, Zaharia did not comment much, but explained that she is hurt and for the sake of the girl, she has decided not to speak and not to throw mud at anyone.
