For the seventh year in a row, the "Leonardo da Vinci" airport in Fiumicino has been chosen as the best airport in Europe. This "victory" does not only refer to the millions of passengers who pass through it, but also to the entire process in relation to passengers, spaces, cleanliness, facilities for the passage of goods and people, etc.
The "Airport Service Quality (Asq) Award" survey was conducted by the international trade association of airports worldwide, in collaboration with Amadeus, a company in the technology sector for this sector.
This company analyzed the preferences of 600,000 passengers at over 400 airports worldwide, based on over 30 indicators related to the airport experience on departure and arrival and, in addition to the "best airport" award, this trophy also awarded Rome's excellence as city.
The airport with the most dedicated staff in Europe, the most comfortable journey in Europe's airports, the nicest, cleanest airport and several other details were taken into consideration for this analysis. To date, only nine airports, in their respective geographic areas, have achieved levels of excellence in all sections considered by the ASQ award. However, these are airports with a traffic of less than 15 million passengers per year, while "Leonardo da Vinci" exceeds 40 million passengers per year.
"The best airport is concrete proof that our people make the difference, as well as the daily commitment and passion that distinguish all airport personnel. We consider these moments only as stages of an increasingly virtuous path of sustainable development for Rome and for all of Italy," said Marco Troncone, CEO of this airport.
