National Geographic Traveler – magazine published by The National Geographic, one of the largest institutions in the world related to geography, archeology, cultural heritage, etc. - has published a list of 30 countries that must be visited during 2024, including Albania.
The magazine has chosen the Albanian Alps as a "wild escape in Europe's rising star".
"Travellers, for something a little different from their next European adventure, are increasingly looking towards Albania. Albania is attracting increasing numbers of visitors thanks to its Adriatic and Ionian coasts, intriguing Ottoman and communist past and relatively nascent tourism scene."
"Known as the Nemuna Mountains, this realm of craggy karst peaks is a hiker's dream, where lynx roam the spruce forests and wildflowers blanket the valley," writes National Geographic Traveler.
