Made with 10,000 pumpkins, a mosaic inspired by Tim Burton's animated film The Nightmare before Christmas has just entered the Guinness Book of Records.
The mosaic on a farm in Southampton, England, was unveiled to commemorate the film's 30th anniversary and beautifully captures the iconic moonlight pose of Jack Skellington, the film's protagonist.
To achieve the Guinness success, the authors needed a space of over 100 square meters, but in the meantime things went beyond expectations as the entire mosaic took up almost double the space.
The farm owned by the Nelson family hosts annual pumpkin weighing contests that set world records. Farmer Ian Nelson, 59, said: "We always saw people winning world records but we didn't think we would be taking part in one ourselves. So we weren't doing all this on purpose as every year we prepare spaces that we decorate with pumpkins, but we realized that we could go further and we succeeded".
Adam Milward, editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, said: "This is always a busy time of year because it's the time when fruit and vegetable records are set around the world, but when people want to, they always succeed," he concluded. .
