More and more content creators are rejecting the traditional culture of being an influencer and instead becoming "deinfluencers," according to social media experts.
Influencers have historically sold something to users, be it a skin product, clothing or other lifestyle items.
However, a viral trend is taking on the opposite. Some people are disinfluencing users, giving them advice on which products they should not buy because they are not worth it.
On TikTok, the hashtag #deinfluencing has more than 159.6 million views. People are tired of seeing social media posts telling them "You need this, you need that," especially with the high cost of living.
The trend of deinfluencers is likely to continue. Maybe now is your moment to go viral.
