Time magazine has named Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and the "spirit of Ukraine" as its "2022 Person of the Year," an award that goes to an event/person deemed to have had the greatest impact on global events over the past 12 months.
TIME said Zelenskiy had inspired Ukrainians and was recognized around the world for his courage in resisting Russian occupation.
Women in Iran were the "Heroes of 2022". They are protesting for their freedoms and rights, protests that started after the death of a Kurdish girl, Mahsa Amini. She is believed to have died in custody due to police brutality after allegedly not wearing the hijab properly.
The K-pop group, "Blackpink", was awarded as "Entertainer of the year".
