2022 billionaires: Who tops Forbes list

Let's say it's not the best year for billionaires. According to Forbes' annual list, there are 87 fewer and are worth $400 billion less compared to a year ago. Despite the war, pandemic or declining markets, a total of 236 people took (from 493 to 2021) became billionaires over the past year.

This list includes 34 different countries. Only China managed to "produce" 62 new billionaires, despite difficult periods.

Second place ranks the US with 50 new billionaires, including 28-year-old Gary Wang ($5.9 billion), who is the bahamas-based co-founder and
chief cryptocurrency exchange chief.

Third place occupies India with 29 new billionaires. Of the published list, only 33 of the 236 young billionaires are women.

What about the names of billionaires for this year?

The head of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, managed to outdo Jeff Bezos and became the richest man on the planet. For the first time, Mask is at the top of the list of world billionaires. As of March 11, the businessman recorded an estimated $219 billion in assets, after his fortune rose by $68 billion last year, following a 33% increase in The Price of Shares of Tesla.

Musk's net wealth is $48 billion more than the fortune of Jeff Bezos, who fell to second place for the first time in four years due to a 3% stake in his retail giant Amazon. Furthermore, the billionaire is estimated to have wiped $6 billion from his net wealth, which is now $171 billion.

French luxury tycoon Bernard Arno took third place in the rankings, with an estimated fortune of $158 billion. The head of LVMH is estimated to have added $8 billion to his wealth last year.

Fourth place occupies Bill Gates with $118 billion, while Warren Buffett is in fifth place on the list of billionaires ranked according to Forbes.
