A TikTok viral video seems to explain why Hailey Bieber suddenly put on sunglasses on the red carpet at the Met Gala. In the short clip, which has garnered more than 2 million views in just 18 hours after it was posted, a crowd can be heard constantly shouting "Selena, Selena, Selena" as the 24-year-old model and her husband Justin Bieber pose for photographers at the September 13 event. The call, about Justin's ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, allegedly made Hailey cry and ask her team for sunglasses to cover their eyes.

Amid the riots, Justin seems to be saying, "Don't cry, don't cry" in an apparent attempt to comfort his wife.

The Met Gala coincided with what would be Bieber-Selena's anniversary and that, perhaps, makes the applause even more exciting. 

Even through the photos, the version explained on TikTok seems plausible, but nonetheless, not everything is as it seems and it would not be surprising if this too was a major misunderstanding.
