Why do bottles have an expiration date when the water does not expire?

Tap water can be stored and consumed for up to 6 months with minimal risk of side effects, as long as it is properly stored (cool, dry and dark place).

This water may have a slightly different taste over time, which is caused by carbon dioxide in the air. However, although they may have a bad taste, it is still generally considered safe to drink for up to 6 months.

What about water in plastic bottles? Plastic bottles have an expiration date, but that is not related to water, but to the bottle. Generally, it is not a good idea to drink water from a plastic bottle that is too far from the expiration date.

This is because plastic can spill into water and, over time, contaminate it with chemicals such as antimony and bisphenol A.

If swallowed regularly, these plastic compounds can slowly accumulate in the body, which can impair intestinal health, immunity, and respiratory function.

If you notice that the water has a strange taste, you should boil it before drinking it or throwing it away.
