In late May, Gucci artistic director Alessandro Michele announced the brand’s important decision. On Instagram, Gucci posted excerpts from Michele's diary, which were in the form of notes kept during quarantine.
"I will abandon the tedious ritual of seasonal performances to start a new cadence, closer to my approach. We will meet only twice a year, to present the chapters of a new story, "he wrote. Michele promised a "different universe". In practical terms, Gucci announced it would abandon pre-season shows as well as spring / summer and fall / winter collection catwalks.
In other words, Gucci's goal is to host its own Fashion Week. At the moment, such a thing is coming in the form of GucciFest. GucciFest is a seven-series mini-series, which follows a character named Silvia. Silvia wakes up in her apartment in Rome and wanders the city streets.
The episodes will be broadcast daily and new outfits for women and men will be presented. For more information about the episodes and more you can head over to GucciFest.com .
