In quarantine, the Japanese director made a horror-comic film with Zoom: Find it

Shinichiro Ueda's new film, about 26 minutes long, was shot at a distance, when no one had to meet anyone. The filming was done by the actors' mobile phones, which in most cases filmed themselves, as well as through the recording of online meetings in Zoom.

The movie " One Cut of the Dead Mission: Remote " has been available for free on Youtube since May.

It features the same characters from the 37-minute film that grabbed awards in 2017, "One Cut of the Dead".

In an interview, Ueda said he wanted to "distract people a little from the stress and fear of every day."

"Having fun through movies or TV has helped me cope with this time. I felt an inner mission to help others in this way. ”

The film focuses on a cast and working group who want to shoot a short film, but something mysterious constantly attacks its victims, tickling them, so that they do not stop laughing. There are hilarious edits and a different way of telling the story.

Ueda's style includes noisy comedy and focuses more on the visual ssa verbal narrative, a relatively rare approach to contemporary Japanese films.
