'I Am Greta': G. Thunberg's story from loneliness at school,

"There are a lot of extraordinary things about the new documentary," "I Am Greta," writes the BBC.

The "film" was brought by director Nathan Grossman, who as a former student in 2018, became curious about a 15-year-old Swedish girl like Greta Thunberg, who had decided to leave school, to sit just outside parliament of the country in Stockholm as part of what she called a "climate strike".

He started filming a few days later. At first, he shot in a low-quality way on his camera, to save space on memory cards, thinking he would be lucky if her story got a short space for local news .

In fact, within a few weeks, children around the world had begun their climate strikes. Arnold Schwarzenegger was distributing Thunberg posts and already, Nathan, had changed the footage to HD quality.

He went on to film Thunberg and her father in every turn of the adventure that took place over the next year. And what an adventure!

Thunberg himself said it could be a movie, but it would be a very surreal movie "because the story would be difficult."

"I Am Greta" is a fusion of transition films: from children to teenagers and superhero films.

This is the story of how a troubled and lonely child discovers her hidden powers and uses them to change the course of the world.

The secret of Thunberg charisma

It's a little unusual. It turns out that this little, quiet girl with braids also has an innate charisma.

The whole subject of the film is about the idea: "If you pretend to be something you are not, you will not be discovered."

Watching the movie, you realize that Thunberg is so fascinating because it is completely authentic. She is not doing this for appearances, she is not doing it because she wants fame or attention, but she is doing it because there is no solution.

She feels compelled to do something - everything - for the world to take climate change seriously.

Why can't she leave everything behind

At the beginning of the documentary, she tries to explain why.

"The moment the climate crisis catches your attention, you can't turn your back on it," she says.

"Once you understand the size of the problem you can not delete it."

The tension, between her desire for change and the lack of urgency on the part of politicians, is what makes history so electric.

Obligation to campaign

Thunberg tells us about the events he undertook in the "diary excerpts".

We learn that she has no doubt that Asperger Syndrome is one of the reasons that gives her more focus.

"I have it. "I would not say that I suffer from it", corrects a reporter during an interview.

The documentary also shows how the campaign helped get Thunberg out of deep depression.

"It feels almost indescribable that something is finally happening," she writes in her diary. "There are so many people who are interested in the same things as me."

In the documentary, Greta talks about how lonely she was at school and the eating disorders she struggles with. "I Am Greta" will be released on November 13, in Hulu.
