Madonna will perform two songs along the Eurovision Song Contest. The festival will be held on May 18 in Tel Aviv and is expected to attract over 180 million viewers from all over the world.

Live Nation Israel first published the pop icon performance story and called it a "historic and hysterical" event. Madonna's representatives confirmed the news for the BBC, while the Eurovision organizers said that "nothing has finally been decided and no contract has been signed."

Madonna's performance will cost around $ 1m, much to be funded by Canadian billionaire Sylvan Adams, who has previously funded major events and concerts in support of Israel.
