Ukraine declares state of emergency: Calls on citizens to leave Russia

Ukraine has declared a state of emergency for at least 1 month urging citizens to leave Russia. This decision was made after America warned that Vladimir Putin has gathered almost 100% of the forces needed for large-scale occupation of the country.

The state of emergency will take effect at midnight today, writes The Guardian. The decision includes document checks, a ban on protests, the evacuation of citizens from dangerous areas and a ban on the production and dissemination of information that could "destabilize the situation".

Referring to several local media outlets, confirmed by The Guardian, the White House has warned the pro-Western government of Volodymyr Zelenskiy about a nationwide offensive over the next 48 hours. Particularly endangered is the northeastern city of Kharkiv, 40 km from the Russian border.

As Russian diplomats evacuated their embassy in the capital, the Ukrainian government said a massive cyber attack had targeted ministries and banks today.
