The Albanian Academy of Sciences has opened to the public the online platform of the "Great Dictionary of the Albanian Language", with the domain fojlori.online , offering free access to all users.
This dictionary serves as an important resource for writers and publicists, for pupils and students, for teachers and pedagogues, as well as for anyone concerned with the use and cultivation of the Albanian language.
The "Great Dictionary of the Albanian Language" is the result of the work of a large team of drafters, editors and proofreaders, under the direction of Academician Jani Thomai as editor-in-chief and two deputy editors-in-chief, Academician Valter Memishaj and Prof. Dr. Shezai Rrokaj.
During a nine-month period from the launch of the platform, opinions, suggestions and additions from the public will be collected, with the aim of further improving the dictionary. After the completion of this phase, the Dictionary Editorial Team, in collaboration with the Technical Coordinator, will review and process the collected suggestions within a three-month period.
In parallel with the digital version , it is planned that the work will also be published in printed form, in ten volumes, concluding one of the most important lexicographic projects in the Albanian language.
