It was the cat filter that went viral around the world: Texas Attorney Rod Ponton trying to enter a virtual courtroom while his Zoom featured a kitten instead of his face.
The bad news is that if you want the correct Ponton cat filter, you may need some very old software. According to the BBC, the filter used to produce the alarmed viral cat is an option more than 10 years old.
However, if you want to look like a cat in the next meeting with the staff, you have several options.
Zoom has some similar filters, but that still will not make the whole face like a cat.
Click on the "preferences" option, or the small arrow pointing upwards, below a Zoom chat, and select "video preferences".
Then click on "Background & Filters" and select "Video Filters". Various options are included such as unicorn horns, flower wreaths and yes, cat ears and muzzles.
For less noticeable and more normal changes, click on "Studio Effects" in "Video Filters". (Studio effects are only available in computer versions of Zoom, not in smartphone versions.) This will allow you to change the look of your eyebrows, mustache, beard and lip color.
