Albania is part of the WHO International Clinical Study

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, informed (via the Albanian Telegraphic Agency) that Albania has been included in the initiative of the World Health Organization, "Public Health Emergency Solidarity Trial", to become part of the international clinical study belongs to the Covid-19 treatment.

"For the treatment of patients with COVID-19, protocols are being followed as in other countries, we use the same treatment lines. Albania will for the first time be part of a major clinical study, 'solidarity trial', initiated by the WHO. We will be part of a global team for clinical investigation including antivirals and hydroxychloroquine ", said Manastirliu.

Referring to the WHO announcement , the Solidarity initiative is an international clinical trial to help find an effective treatment for Covid-19 and will compare four treatment options.

By registering patients in many countries, this study aims to quickly discover if any of the medications improve the disease. Other medications may be added during the research.

While there is no safe evidence, the WHO advises that no one give prescriptions or self-medicate with different medications.
