Following the recent dynamics inside and outside the Big Brother house regarding Miri and Selini's relationship, singer Anjeza Shahini has published a long statement in defense of Miri.
(It is noteworthy that she and Miri share the same last name, which brings back the news from a few years ago that the pair are first cousins, but as of the time of publication of this article, Anjeza has not confirmed or affirmed this allusion to Anabel.)
In her statement, Anjeza Shahini describes Miri as a man who still believes that people do not slander, do not pay for ugly comments, and do not organize to destroy someone's image publicly. A belief that, according to her, conflicts with the brutal reality of media exposure and mass judgment that accompanies television formats.
"20 days before Miri entered Big (which I didn't want, because unlike me, Miri still believes in the benevolence of media powers), she told me: 'I don't want support or help. If people want me for who I am, I want to be voted for who I am.'
"Miri is so right. He still thinks that people don't slander, that people don't pay for ugly comments, that people don't conspire to denigrate a human being to the core."
In the strongest part of the reaction, the singer dwells on the serious accusations made against Mir by Selin's father, calling his labeling as a "pervert" unfair and dangerous.
"The good that fights today and makes sure it hasn't lost a friend tomorrow; the good that asks before hugging you; the good that puts itself in danger to protect the weakest, today is accused by a parent of an adult daughter, who is just as involved in a game as the good, as a "pervert."
They are not to blame, because there are many 'perverts', but they do not appear on Big Brother; you have them at home, acting like honest men, from those with 'honor'. Miri has grown up with love; he gives a lot of love, sincere love, from what has been forgotten by many.
"Tag a man with a heart of gold like Miri with such epithets is criminal and for this reason I hope that Miri will have the space to take appropriate measures one day."
She emphasizes that this is a television game, where all those involved are adults and aware of its dynamics, while the public lynching, according to her, is crossing every human limit. The statement ends with a personal message for Mir, whom she encourages to be patient, expressing the belief that the truth and purity of his character will emerge with time.
