A new law banning the sale of tobacco products under the age of 21 has already entered into force in the United States.
Last week, President Donald Trump signed the new minimum age to buy cigarettes, under a sweeping spending bill.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that "it is now illegal for retail stores to sell tobacco products, such as cigarettes, cigars and electronic cigarettes, to youth under 21".
This decision, stemming from rising consumption of youth tobacco products, was considered an important step by President Trump.
In Albanian law, the minimum age to buy tobacco products is 18 years. "All points of sale must be provided with a clear and legible billboard that reads: 'The sale of tobacco products to persons under 18 years of age is prohibited'," reads the law "On the protection of health from tobacco products".
