“In France, we love bold lipstick,” she explains. “But the result should look like it was applied in two seconds. And to be honest, that’s usually all we need. I always say: for something to look effortless, it really has to be effortless.”
Her trick?
Layering with light and transparent colors.
To make lipstick look natural and even, she suggests building up several light layers of color, rather than applying a single, heavy coat.
"The natural red of the lips or cheeks is never a uniform color. When you layer it gradually, it creates that effect that seems to radiate from within, just like blood vessels under the skin do," says Violette.
