In a recent interview, Scarlett Johansson confessed about the leading roles that made the actress reconsider her work.
For Variety, the actress said that she considered leaving the film industry around 2011, after two important roles were entrusted to Emily Blunt and Sandra Bullock.
"The first one was 'Iron Man 2' and then the next one was director Alfonso Cuarón's 'Gravity,'" she said. “I loved that role [in 'Gravity']. I felt really frustrated and hopeless. I thought, 'Am I doing it right?'
The role of Ryan Stone in "Gravity" was entrusted to Sandra Bullock. But Johansson's career was transformed when Blunt dropped out of the Marvel film and she was offered the role again. She remarkably portrayed the character of Black Widow in Marvel's Iron Man 2 across eight films, leading to the production of Black Widow (2021).
In 2018 and 2019, Scarlett Johansson was the highest paid actress and appeared several times on the Forbes list of the 100 most famous people. In 2021, Time named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Johansson is one of the highest paid actresses today.
